At the concert “Visual Harmony for All”, which aims to expand opportunities for participation in new forms of co-creative experiences through the visualization of sound, Abstract Engine led the video and lighting direction.
To address the project’s aim of “creating a concert experience where people with diverse abilities can enjoy music through both sight and sound,” Abstract Engine proposed and implemented a system that analyzes performance data and generates real-time video and lighting effects synchronized with the music.
Abstract Engine joined the project from its conceptual stage, contributing to the selection of musical pieces based on criteria such as strong rhythmic qualities and compositions that explore synesthetic relationships between sound and image. From both technological and inclusion-oriented perspectives, the project sought expressive, non-literal approaches to visualization rather than explanatory or didactic representations.
